It is hard to get around the idea that Mobile Media like the cell phone helps to intertwine the virtual space with the physical space. but i think it is the idea of bringing someone distant from you, proxiaml. but mobile media creates a space that cannot be seen through physical space but maybe a representation of physical space on a computer screen called the virtual space. When playing internet games such as World of Warcraft, there is a fantasy world created for users to venture and like a street directory, places located in World of Warcraft only exist specifically in the game.
